Chair

Rob Hewett

Rob is a Chartered Fellow of the Institute of Directors and a graduate of Lincoln University, holding an M.Com (hons)- (Marketing) and a B.Com (Ag) (Economics).

Rob farms 10,000 sheep and beef stock units on a carbon negative breeding/finishing and forestry farm of 1020ha in Manuka Gorge, South Otago.

Rob is the Chair of Farmlands Co-operative Society Limited, New Zealand Woolscours Limited (Woolworks), NZX-listed Cavalier Bremworth (BRW), Fern Energy Limited, Hilton Haulage Limited, Rewiring Aotearoa and Pioneer Energy Limited, as well as a Director of NZX-listed T&G Global Limited (TRG) and Woolcorp Limited. 

Rob won the Deloitte Top 200 Chair of the Year award in 2023, and the Co-operative Business New Zealand Outstanding Contribution Award in 2019.

Fraser Whineray

Fraser has very strong governance and commercial acumen, primary sector expertise and stakeholder experience.

He has worked for the Dairy Board and Fonterra in a number of roles. Fraser was GM Operations for Mighty River Power then Chief Executive of Mercury Energy NZ. He has held numerous private and publicly listed governance roles and is currently a Director of WM NZ Ltd, Quayside Holdings Ltd, Ports of Tauranga Ltd and a Visiting Fellow of Cambridge University’s Judge Business School.

Fraser Whineray

Jessie Chan

Jessie has an honours degree in animal science and has worked in a range of primary sector management positions including MAF, Federated Farmers and Meat and Wool NZ. Jessie also owned and co-managed a dairy farming business in mid-Canterbury and is now an equity partner in a dairy farm.

She is currently a director of NZPork and Pharmazen, and Independent Chair of Cranley Farms. Jessie has previously served on the board of RuralCo, Ngai Tahu Farming, Alpine Energy, Meat the Need, Bioprotection Aotearoa, and was a member of the Fonterra Shareholders Council. Jessie was awarded a Member of the NZ Order of Merit in 2022 for services to dairy and agriculture. She also received the Women in Governance Award for Inspiring Governance Leader in 2021, and Dairy Woman of the Year in 2017.

Sir Neville has extensive understanding of the primary sector, having held a number of governance and executive roles in the industry over many years.

He has wide experience in public, government, and private settings, proven financial and commercial acumen both in New Zealand and overseas public and private institutions. This includes start up and investment decision-making. Sir Neville is well respected and holds considerable mana across private and public environments.

Greg Murison

Greg has over 30 years’ experience in the R&D sector as a researcher and director on Boards and sector bodies, including the agriculture sector.

He has a strong understanding of the research science and innovation system and the process from knowledge creation to commercialisation. He is solutions focused with an emphasis on the need to engage with different stakeholders and work with all parties. Greg is currently the Acting Chief Executive Officer of Auckland Uniservices Ltd.
