We’re teaming up with the Ag Emissions Centre to offer up to NZ $2 million to accelerate research, tools, and technologies that can reduce agricultural greenhouse gas emissions in New Zealand’s pasture-based farming systems.
We’re looking for innovative, scientifically robust concepts that can bring practical mitigation solutions closer to on-farm use.
This round is focused on nitrous oxide emissions and projects must address at least one of these research challenges:
Automatic identification of urine patches
Novel low-emissions nitrogen fertilisers
Better prediction of in-vivo outcomes from in-vitro methodology
Pasture-focused dietary manipulation strategies
A new/improved approach to reducing nitrous oxide from urine or methane from enteric fermentation at scale
The round is open to applicants worldwide, and expressions of interest close 24 February 2026.
