A summary of our progress to get emissions reduction tools into farmers' hands, as at 30 June 2025.

Q4 updates

  • $6.3M investment in BiomEdit - US company developing a probiotic-based feed additive to enhance productivity and reduce methane emissions from dairy cows.

  • $1.5M investment in Bovotica - Australian company developing a probiotic to reduce methane and boost productivity.

  • $60.7M now committed across 14 ventures and research projects.

  • 77 potential investment opportunities on our radar as we continue to scan the globe for solutions that will work for our pasture-based farms and build a diverse portfolio of tools for farmers.

Other recent highlights

  • Spent the day with our Farmer Focus Group to get their input into the mitigation tools we have invested in including the bolus from Ruminant BioTech and low emissions pasture from BioLumic.

  • Connected with a variety of stakeholders at key events including National Fieldays, Primary Industries Summit, Ahuwhenua Awards and the UC Davis State of Science Summit: Reducing Methane from Animal Agriculture

  • Partnered with Innovate UK, Britain’s national innovation agency, as part of our catalyst work and to unlock new investment opportunities.

  • Supported Agteria Biotech to commence farm trials in New Zealand to test its patent-pending molecule that reduces methane emissions from dairy cows.

  • Continued efforts to raise awareness about our work and the global demand for emissions reduction including an op-ed in the NZ Herald: ‘Innovation key to growing global markets’.
