As part of our work to help our investee companies navigate New Zealand’s regulatory pathway, we brought together key people from across the sector to discuss animal trial design.
Our Head of Strategy and Engagement Ruth Leary said the day was extremely valuable, and provided clarity on how to design trials to deliver meaningful data, both for regulatory requirements and commercial success.
“Trialling methane mitigation tools on New Zealand farms is a critical exercise to validate their effectiveness in our pasture-fed system and ultimately gain regulatory approval for the tools that require it.
“We explored trial design for different tools from across our portfolio, including long acting-tools like a vaccine or bolus, through to probiotics and pastures.
“Having the regulator in the room was a key part of the day’s value - ensuring a direct feedback loop for those designing trials or developing the mitigation solutions.”
