New Zealand company developing a slow-release, biodegradable methane-inhibiting bolus specifically suited to pastoral farms.
The bolus sits in the animal’s rumen, releasing a controlled dose of a methane inhibitor for up to six months.
Cattle trials showed a 75% daily methane reduction for 100 days from a single treatment, with 6 months being the target.
The bolus would be administered orally, by a farmer or vet, with an applicator gun like other boluses already on the market.
Currently seeking regulatory approval for use in New Zealand.
