Ministry for Primary Industries

The Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) is focused on growing the value of New Zealand’s food and fibre sector and supporting the Government’s goal of doubling the value of exports by 2034. It is helping to improve sector productivity, ensure the food produced is safe, deliver solutions for New Zealand farmers to reduce greenhouse gases by 2030, and protect New Zealand from harmful pests and diseases.
