A summary of our progress to get emissions reduction tools into farmers' hands, as at 30 September 2025.
$71.1m now committed across 16 ventures and research projects, including these recent investments:
Āmua (new): New Zealand farmer-led company developing cow wearable technology to reduce nitrous oxide emissions, nitrate leaching and fertiliser costs. Read more.
Nbryo (new): Australian company developing specialised reproductive technologies to help farmers breed more emissions efficient livestock faster. Read more.
ArkeaBio (follow-on): US company developing a vaccine to reduce livestock methane emissions. Read more.
New Zealand methane inhibitors programme (follow-on): aiming to deliver a methane-reducing compound to animals on pasture-based farms (via feed additive or bolus). Read more.
42 potential investment opportunities on our radar as we continue to scan the globe for solutions that will work for our pasture-based farms and build a diverse portfolio of tools for farmers.
Hosted a stakeholder workshop to help our investee companies navigate New Zealand’s regulatory pathway.
Met with our Farmer Focus Group online to get further input into the mitigation tools that were discussed at our in-person meeting in May, including Ruminant Biotech’s bolus, BioLumic’s low emissions pasture and Āmua’s nitrous oxide mitigation wearable.
Presented to a variety of stakeholders including Rabobank’s Client Council, Federated Farmers Meat & Wool Council, Silver Fern Farms conference, Red Meat Sector conference and the NZ Institute of Rural Professionals National Conference.
Continued efforts to raise awareness about our work with long-form interviews in rural media including Rural Exchange, Ag in Conversation and Dairy News.
